His Lordship Francis T. Lysinge
John XXIII Minor Seminary Fotabong will open its doors to the maiden batch of minor seminarians during the 2011/2012 Academic year. Aspirants to the priesthood from Mamfe Diocese particularly and those from other dioceses at large will benefit from the institution.
The minor seminary will offer the same formation that Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary, Soppo, and St. Aloysius Minor Seminary, Kitiwum, offer in Bamenda Ecclesiastical Province. The pioneer rector, Rev. Fr. Leonard Ekwelle says the seminary will begin with form one minor seminarians only and then grow from there over the years to a full-fledged minor seminary.

In addition to compulsory subjects taught in the seminary like Religious studies, Latin and music, the junior seminarians will also be taught other subjects that will prepare them for the Cameroon General Certificate of Education, GCE, at the ordinary and advanced levels.

Given that seminaries are never meant to accommodate too many seminarians, it is the Bishop of Mamfe, Mgr. Francis Teke Lysinge's wish that John XXIII Minor seminary will provide quality education to aspirants.

The fee stands at FCFA 212, 500 for tuition and boarding and payable in negotiable installments. As such it is expected many future priests will be formed in John XXIII Minor Seminary. With just a couple of days to the start of the academic year, the rector and his team of formators continue to interview and admit prospective seminarians.
